Manager, Association Management and Conferences Position: Manager, Association Management and Conferences Location: Sheppard and Victoria Park, Toronto, Ontario Our client is an established Toronto based company working in the not-for-profit sector, planning conferences and events and association management for a variety of associations. They offer a small but supportive work environment including supporting your career development within the industry. We are looking for a full-time manager who is detail oriented, someone who can juggle several balls at once and most importantly be an integral part of their team to support their clients. Association Management Assume the role of the primary contact for an association Work with volunteer Boards and Committees to maintain effective lines of communication to ensure their goals are achieved Work closely with the appropriate Boards to ensure best practices on operational and governance procedures Develop annual and long-term strategic planning in conjunction with the Boards and Committees as required, including but not limited to policies, procedures and practices; budgets; technical and software enhancements Supervise the orientation of incoming Board members Manage the internal staff team related to each Association Assist in all aspects of the planning of the Associations’ meetings/events including site selection, sponsorship, exhibits Conference Management Facilitate aspects of meeting planning from site selection, negotiations through to post-reporting Work closely with suppliers and maintain the on-going relationships Coordinate details of events such as conferences, trade shows, and events Prepare, present and adhere to budgets Schedule speakers, vendors, and participants Coordinate, monitor and meet event timelines Edit and design promotional materials Coordinate event logistics, including registration and attendee tracking, presentation and materials support and pre- and post-event evaluations Social media posting Plan and manage the registration desk and event staff, including volunteers Coordinate and trouble-shoot events on-site What we need from you. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in French would be an asset Strategic thinking with strong leadership skills to facilitate multiple deliverables Knowledgeable in the not-for-profit association space Good time management to establish priorities Critical and creative thinking and be an innovative problem solver To motivate and inspire staff to bring out the most in their performance Bring out your inner technology geek, just a little bit Proficient in Microsoft Office and various social media platforms Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.
