Public Relations & Events Coordinator Public Relations Ottawa, ON 5068BR Specific Job Description As the events and public relations coordinator, you will oversee and organize events that will make an impact LM’s Business in Canada. You’ll ensure events are successful and cost-effective, paying attention to budget and time constraints. The successful candidate will possess superb: verbal and written communication skills, social media coordination-management and be able to provide coordinated event planning support for internal and external business-related symposiums, trade shows, conferences, mission events, VIP briefings and social functions within Canada for national and international events. Coordinates logistic support to include accommodations, food services, air and ground transportation, communication support, facilities support and manages VIP delegations for such events to support a positive customer relations environment for the greatest good of the business. The specific details will include: Reporting to the Executive team, the incumbent will be responsible for the planning, execution and full coordination of all Lockheed Martin Canada signature events. Signature events include external business related events social functions, luncheons, symposiums, trade shows, exhibit participation, mission events, and conferences. Must have the ability to visualize and prepare a concept of operations for each function, creating and implementing the marketing strategies, calculating budgets and ensuring they are adhered to. Will be responsible as primary point of contact for coordinating sponsorships on behalf of LM Canada, determining where LM Canada spends sponsor dollars, and presenting the alignment within our business strategy Responsible for working closely with communications team to manage key messaging and provide marketing material in support of events to ensure successful business relations. Other projects in support of the LM Canada business strategy, as required. Clearance required for role Secret Required skills, qualifications and experience Bachelors degree in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, Minimum 3 years of professional experience in corporate event planning and public relations activities Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively on a team Must be a self-starter, multi-tasker, and have the capability to develop solutions to a variety of challenges, analyze, coordinate and provide recommendations for senior management to make informed decisions Must have advanced communication skills, written and verbal with ability to pitch presentations to executive leadership and decision makers. Must be able to travel on occasion to support the various events throughout the year. Expected to possess a high level of professionalism due to interaction with senior officials both internally and externally.
