We are actively looking for the ideal candidate for the position listed below. Position: Proposal & Product Developer, Meetings & Events) JPdL Office: Toronto & Niagara (based in our downtown Toronto office) Compensation: Competitive salary, incentive plan and benefits Start date: Immediately Job Duties and Responsibilities: Work closely with the Director of Sales and Sales Manager(s) to assist the Sales Department in achieving its goals and objectives Develop creative, profitable and cost-effective, compelling and best in class proposals for clients within the required deadlines Act as a subject matter expert on destinations and site options Maintain and grow relationships with key industry partners, including but not limited to: Tourism Toronto and Niagara representatives, local hotel sales representatives, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, vendors and other industry colleagues in the Toronto, Niagara and surrounding resort regions Effectively negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring best possible price and concessions Maintain the highest level of business and personal integrity with clients, suppliers, industry and office colleagues Create and develop new ideas, processes and program extras that distinguish JPdL from other such companies Write proposals in a persuasive manner that takes full account of customer-specific style and content and achieves required JPdL positioning Maintain and grow JPdL’s reputation in the industry Master edit and or proof read proposals written by other members of the team Participate in client de-briefing (as appropriate) Define and implement best practices Maintain an accurate database of event proposals Keep suppliers up to date on proposal status, and secure/release services in a timely manner Continually research and develop new product ideas with descriptions and pricing Ensure a smooth transfer of files and all relevant information from Sales to Operations Coordinate sales department initiatives such as familiarization trips, site inspections, tradeshows etc. Marketing initiatives: website management, eNewsletter, print material coordination, awards submissions, holiday card coordination Assist in the development and implementation of JPdL’s presence in Social Media Constantly strive to make the company more efficient and cost-effective Oversee and train Interns Be a positive, creative influence in the office Is this you? 1-3 years experience in researching and planning proposals for dynamic incentive programs, meetings, and conferences of varying scope and complexity (including experience with large scale programs) Bachelor's degree or higher in one of the following areas: Hospitality & Tourism Management, Business, Marketing, and Communications, English, Journalism or Communications CMP, DMCP designation an asset Must have strong knowledge of Downtown Toronto venues and attractions Database literate Social Media savvy Research and analytical skills Project Management experience an asset Very creative and innovative as well as passionate about Toronto and what it offers Advanced negotiation, communication, writing, and organization skills Outstanding attention to detail A passion for continuous education on new product offerings including participation in supplier events and association networks Proven success in delivering results in a fast-paced dynamic work environment Ability to work collaboratively within a team Bilingualism (English/French an asset) Local candidates only Contact: Send your intro letter and resume in PDF format to Jennifer Ginsberg, Director of Sales at email@example.com Must include salary expectations in order to be considered for an interview.
