The team The RTA School of Media at Ryerson University is Canada’s preeminent school of media content creation, innovation and broadcasting. Established over sixty years ago as the School of Radio and Television Arts, RTA provides students with an intense and rewarding education in all aspects of media production, art and scholarship. The opportunity As a member of the RTA School of Media, you will work closely with the School’s leadership to coordinate communication activities; support School communications and outreach initiatives by writing, designing and editing media deliverables for internal and external audiences; ensure that branding and style are consistent and adhere to current campaigns and brand standards; and provide administrative support with School special projects and events. Qualifications To help us learn more about you, please provide a cover letter and resume describing how you meet the following required qualifications: Candidates qualifying for an interview will be required to submit to portfolio. Completion of a postsecondary diploma in Communications, Marketing and /or a related field, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience assisting with social media, marketing, design, public relations and communication projects is required. Experience writing communications and creating promotional materials, maintaining websites, coordinating events and campaigns and office administration. Extensive design and content creation experience for multiple platforms. Demonstrated knowledge of social media channels, platforms and emerging technologies Advanced, demonstrated knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, social media and analytics tools, proficiency in Office Productivity tools and Google apps Event coordination skills Knowledge of theory and application of graphic design, layout and composition as related to print material, visual communication, typography, computer software applications and the like Strong reporting and event photography skills Strong interpersonal skills Strong oral and written communication skills Research ability to compile reports and interpret data Good client service focus Competency in office software, including databases Demonstrated experience in providing support of financial administration and reconciling costs associated with special events and project-based activities.
