2019 Seasonal Public Relations & Events – Digital and Video Content Assistant Start Date : ASAP Durations : Until September 2nd, 2019 Pay Rate : $13.15-$14.00 Basic Function : Reporting to Manager and/or Supervisor of Public Relations and Events, this position is responsible for support of project-specific tasks in the areas of video and digital content collection, primarily supporting marketing and public relations. This will include collection of photo and video assets, digital editing and design, and providing general support and other administrative duties including clerical and on-site. The successful candidate will support and implement the Toronto Zoo Strategic Plan. RESPONSIBILITIES • Assists in creating and capturing compelling photo and video assets for use by Marketing and Public Relations and Events branches • Assists with various project-specific tasks including development and editing of marketing collateral, web content development and the digital file organization of Zoo photographs and video assets • Assists in the compilation and organization of photo and video content, including digital editing and archiving • Assists in maintaining records, files, databases, mailing lists and correspondence; • On-site support of Media Relations, Tours, Events and Special Exhibits as required • Coordinate and wear the Toronto Zoo Mascots (Explorer Bear) costume both on Zoo site and at off-site functions as required • Other related duties as requested by the Supervisor and/or Manager QUALIFICATIONS • Working towards a certificate or diploma in Digital Multi-Media, Film/Video/Photography, Marketing/Advertising or Public Relations at Community College or University level, or the equivalent amount of experience and training • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite tools for editing photos/video (including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.) • Experience taking photographs and or video • Experience with camera equipment and other supporting equipment (Canon specific experience an asset) • Understanding of basic light and compositional skills • Must have proven, exceptional, interpersonal skills • Must possess a working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Word applications including Excel • Must have demonstrated superb written and verbal communication skills using the English language • Must be capable of performing the physical demands of the job • Must be able and willing to work shifts, weekends and holidays • Must possess a valid Class-G driver’s license in good standing **please note this must be indicated on your resume or you will not be considered for the position If interested in this seasonal position, please submit your resume and cover letter outlining your qualifications by Sunday, April 28, 2019 to*: Email: firstname.lastname@example.org *Please state "Application for Seasonal Public Relations – Digital and Video Content Assistant" in the subject line of your application.
