Manager (Artist Relations, Special Projects, and Events) Level Experienced Job Location Recording Academy - Santa Monica, CA Position Type Full Time Education Level 4 Year Degree Job Details What you’ll do: Serve as key support to talent relations, special projects and events department for the Recording Academy and its affiliates. This includes, but is not limited to; outreach and interactions with artist/ talent relations, internal, field staff and other constituents; coordination of schedules and artist/vendor/sponsor meetings, management of various aspects of live event production, event planning, creating and/or implementing key timelines and protocols, recaps, calendars and budgets; operational review, marketing and sponsor relations/development and other related tasks. Skills & experience: 2-3 years of experience with music production, logistics and planning for live events Exceptional attention to detail, working within fast-paced environment, with ability to coordinate, execute and track multiple activities simultaneously Exceptional communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, with ability to take initiative and build productive relationships, internally and externally Budget prep, planning and oversight Knowledge of trends and key stakeholders within the music business, a plus Proficient in various database programs, Microsoft and design software is a plus Ability to cultivate new relationships for development on all fronts, from funding opportunities to artist and vendor relations Innovative thinker who challenges status quo and presents ideas for efficient or more productive workflow Self-starter who is skilled in resource development and market research Physical demands for certain roles: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
