Manager, Events Arlington, VA, US Requisition ID : 1075 Job Title : Manager, Events Marketing SBU: HIMSS Media Department: HM Marketing Supervisor: Senior Manager, Events Marketing Grade: E5 Position Purpose: This position is responsible for building and executing holistic marketing strategies and tactics for an assigned portfolio of HIMSS face-to-face events. The Manager, Events Marketing will apply leadership, strategic thinking and hands-on execution skills to our rapidly growing portfolio of events that educate and engage healthcare technology professionals. Essential Functions: Work with team to design, document, and execute innovative multi-channel marketing programs for assigned HIMSS events portfolio. Working with Audience Content Strategist, develop strategies to leverage existing content communities to promote events. Collaborate with Audience Development team on list development, management, and segmentation. Establish key event marketing KPIs and measure results accordingly. Develop and execute external partnerships with the purpose of building our event brands and growing our audience reach. Collaboratively help to define the strategic goals of the event and the overall positioning to the audience and sponsor base. Recommend event format ideas, iterate event strategies as market evolves and work to create outstanding events that capitalize on market trends. Other Functions: Perform other related duties as required or assigned that contribute to the effectiveness of the department and to accomplish strategic goals and objectives. Manage individual event marketing budgets. Create planning documents that justify spend and/or projected attendee revenue. Manage marketing toolkits and speaker promotional kits to amplify our content pre- and post-show Internal Relationships: Has contact with Events Director (indirect supervisor), events team, sales team, central HIMSS teams External Relationships: Has contact with Event sponsors, organizing affiliates or partners. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience, in content marketing field. 3-5+ years progressive recent experience managing a large portfolio of specialized, B2B events Outstanding analytical skills with ability to achieve results in a complex environment A minimum of five (5) years of audience marketing experience is preferred, with specific experience in audience development and audience segmentation working closely with product management, sales teams, marketing staff and creative agencies. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess relevance of tactics and programs as they relate to business objectives and strategies. Self-starter with strong leadership and prioritization skills. Strong attention to detail and proactive behavior and attitude Excellent project management skills, organization, planning, multi-tasking and time management skills Proven ability to forge, foster and grow relationships with associations and/or media partners. Background or knowledge in information systems and technology is an asset.
