JOB OVERVIEW Reporting to two Senior Managers, the Fundraising Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and fundraising support for both Community Offices (Cambridge and Hamilton) including the Daffodil Campaign, Door to Door Campaign, Relay For Life, Special Events and Independent Fundraising Events. The ability to work from the Cambridge and Hamilton offices is preferred. This role is a contract, full-time position until June 28, 2019. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: • Provides administrative support for fundraising campaigns and special events including coordination of event day volunteers. • Provides administrative support for Independent Fundraising Event (IFE) accounts by completing the intake and triage, tracking data and creating reports. • Supports recognition and stewardship activities for donors and volunteers. • Assists with financial processes for the office. • Assists with bank deposits, allocations and documentation, and submissions for gift processing. • Provides guidance and training to office volunteers as required. • Works in compliance with the provisions of The Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, and complies with the Society’s Health & Safety Policy. Other duties as assigned. • Performs other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: • Post-secondary education, preferably in business or administration, with two years’ administrative experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience. • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills to communicate effectively with a range of staff and stakeholders. • Ability to deal with various stakeholders a demanding environment often with tight deadlines. • Superior written and verbal communication skills, to respond to internal and external inquiries. • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while seeing deliverables through to completion. • Superior work ethic, sound judgment and great attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Solid computer skills, with intermediate knowledge in MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint and Outlook) and Internet/search engines, social media platforms and databases. • Experience in a complex, diverse, not-for-profit organization preferred. • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
