Woodbine is looking for someone to lead and manage in creating high impact events at our Woodbine Mohawk Park location that attracts new audiences, increases on-track attendance, provides an exceptional guest experience that leaves a positive imprint and ultimately translates into increased revenues for Woodbine Entertainment. The successful candidate will: 1. Own the event planning process and leads operational team in organizing and executing all Mohawk Park events to meet specified objectives. 2. Consider strategic planning for events (target customers, key messages, etc.) as outlined by the Marketing Department and implements initiatives that support the strategy and attract new business. 3. Liaise with operational departments bi-weekly to ensure all required support is in place for superior execution and that there’s a clear understanding of departmental expectations. 4. Ensure deadlines and budgets are adhered to. 5. Seek out partnerships with external organizations that will help to elevate the on-track guest experience, engage our desired target demographic and ultimately drive added revenue for the organization. 6. Build relationships with external suppliers and facilitates in the communication for event days. 7. Lead the event performance evaluation, summarizing results and support from relevant teams while sharing results and best practices. 8. Simplify and continues to improve the event planning process so that it’s efficient, timely, collaborative and guest focused. 9. Ensure all insurance, permits, legal and health and safety requirements are met 10. Assist with the execution of Guest Experience programming, training and department events. Please note: This is a full time position based out of our Woodbine Mohawk Park Location. Hours for this role are Tuesday to Saturday, 11:00am to 7:00pm including some weekends, nights and all Mohawk Park major events.
