Job Title : Special Events/Promotions Coordinator Job Type : Full-Time Location : Yonkers, NY Union Position : No Job Description : Assists the department manager in the facilitation of all marketing promotional programs, special events, and entertainment events. Duties include but are not limited to assisting the department manager in developing proformas, producing communication vehicles for operational and administrative departments, assisting in the procurement of program gifts/merchandise prizes, processing all essential paperwork as it relates to marketing programs and adheres to internal controls and state regulations. Provides suggestions to department manager for promotions and events. Continually looks for methods to make marketing programs guest friendly and convenient. Reviews all collateral and direct mail related to events and promotions. Must maintain a professional appearance at all times. Promotes positive public and employee relations. Ensures all messages are consistent and accurate. Performs other duties as assigned. Essential Duties Assists in the facilitation of assigned promotions, special events and entertainment. Works directly with the Promotions Booth and Player Development entities during assigned promotions and events. Assists the department manager by overseeing and ensuring assigned events/promotions are conducted efficiently and effectively. Directs the appropriate flow of information both to internal and external guests. At times will serve as the point person in the resolution of “on the spot” guest complaints. Job Requirements Physical and Mental - Ability to work with a PC, understand accounting, purchasing and inventory reports, provide department manager justification on monthly P/L line items when appropriate. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends. Ability to lift 10 lbs. Required to understand and communicate and follow directions both verbally and in written English. Must think logically and reasonably. Must be personable when communicating to external and internal guests. Ability to understand and comply with all company safety policies and their requirements. This includes attendance at training meetings as scheduled. Work/Educational Experience - Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field. Requires one year of related event, promotional, and entertainment planning experience or commensurate skills or abilities acceptable to the company. An understanding of the gaming industry is preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be friendly, outgoing, congenial and a team player. Minimum 18 years old and able to obtain appropriate license pursuant to the NY State Gaming and Race regulations.
