Foundation and Events Director Department: Marketing City: Newport News Status: Full Time     Foundation and Events Director   Our Foundation and Event Director plays a huge part in supporting Langley’s history of community involvement, charitable giving and making a difference in the communities we serve.  The successful candidate will be a self-starter, creative and passionate about furthering Langley and branding Langley for Families in the Hampton Roads community as an institution focused on community giving.  This position will include providing support to the Chairman of the Langley for Families Foundation, planning, conducting fundraising events, while also seeking and screening recipients for all of our various charitable giving efforts. Additionally, the right person should possess a love of events and event execution, have impeccable taste and outstanding organizational skills to coordinate staff and member-facing events throughout the course of the year including our member educational events.    Responsibilities include: Capture, track and fulfill approved donation requests for the Langley for Families Foundation and Langley. Review 501c3 organizations for compliance. Monitor expenses and adhere to established budget. Plan and coordinate all Langley for Families fundraising events and work with Langley Senior Managers to track contractual commitments to the Foundation. Raise awareness of the organizations charitable giving efforts and actively seek organizations in need of their support. Plan and coordinate Employee Events. Coordinate Member Education Events and other Member related and community events. Serve as staff liaison to the Langley for Families Foundation Board; scheduling meetings as directed by the Chairman. Serve as staff liaison to the Charitable Giving Committee of Langley; schedule meetings, track donations and coordinate payments. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business (preferred) or a related area or the equivalent working experience. Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in annual and event fundraising in a corporate or not-for-profit organization Proven success managing and executing events on a large scale.
