Communications and Events Coordinator (April 2018) This temporary full-time position is responsible for supporting the organization’s strategic direction in peer support and member engagement. The applicant will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of marketing, communications, and fundraising materials, and event-based activities from May to August. Applicants must be between 15-30 years of age, returning to school full-time, and a Canadian citizen. The salary is $15/hr for 16 weeks. Major areas of key responsibilities include: Event Coordination Marketing and Communications Fund Development The successful candidate will have the following characteristics: General understanding of marketing and communications principles and tools Proficiency in social media (knowledge of WordPress, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premier pro a plus) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Superior administrative and computer skills Strong organizational skills Ability to manage a project from inception to completion Ability to take direction and work as part of a team Experience with events, fundraising, sales and/or business development would be a great asset Click here to view the full posting To Apply:   Please forward your cover letter and resume, including the date you are available for work, no later than May 3, 2018  – by email to hr@sci-bc.ca .
