The Canadian Red Cross Society, a not for profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world, is currently seeking an Events Manager, Tiffany Circle. Within the Philanthropy Department, and under the direction of the Associate Director, Tiffany Circle, the Events Manager, Tiffany Circle is responsible for managing cultivation and stewardship events and for Tiffany Circle members and prospects to ensure maximum member engagement and program growth. Tiffany Circle members support the philanthropic goals of the Canadian Red Cross by promoting and developing women’s philanthropy across the country. The Events Manager is also accountable for providing direction and support to colleagues across the country with respect to the planning and execution of Tiffany Circle events and works as an integral member of the Major Giving channel to support the achievement of organizational goals by contributing to a high-performance, donor-centered team and a collaborative work environment. RESPONSIBILITIES Events Management: Plans and executes local and regional Tiffany Circle stewardship and cultivation events as well as educational events such as disaster preparedness workshops and Save the Life of a Loved one training sessions Manages planning and execution of Annual Anniversary event Develops purpose, objectives and target audience for all events in collaboration with Tiffany Circle member volunteers/hosts Establishes event budgets and maintains close control of expenditures Sources and negotiates with vendors and suppliers Develops an event plan and critical path including overall experience, flow, content and messaging Manages logistics including venue, menu planning, audiovisual requirements, invitations, invitee lists Manages RSVP process and maintains master invitation list Liaises with event participants and speakers, including Red Cross program staff, executives, delegates and volunteers Conducts briefings and organizes run-throughs with event participants and speakers Composes and prepares speaking outline and notes for event participants and speakers Composes and prepares event collateral materials in collaboration with the Marketing Hub Coordinates volunteer support for events and provides training/orientation Provides support to Tiffany Circle members who are acting as event hosts Ensures all event information is entered into Raiser’s Edge Coordinates event follow-up to attendees and invitees Analyzes event success and prepares reports Plans and coordinates new engagement activities for members including tours, site visits and training Team Support: Provides direction and resources to Major Giving staff across the country to ensure consistency with respect to the quality of Tiffany Circle events Interacts with the office of the President & CEO, CDO, VP and other administrators to relay information and engage parties in visits/events/meetings Runs and distributes a variety of reports using Raiser’s Edge to support the fundraising function; requests additional RE data and reports as required QUALIFICATIONS The minimum qualifications for this position are post-secondary school education in fundraising, communications or marketing and 7 years of job related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other skills, abilities and assets include: Experience and commitment to excellence in customer service in supporting partners, volunteers and donors Knowledge of philanthropy practices and familiarity with donor-centered fundraising with a strong desire to improve donor experience Natural curiosity and drive and to investigate and resolve issues Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating a collaborative approach with a willingness to engage constructively with internal and external stakeholders Strong oral and written communication skills Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects within tightly prescribed timelines Ability to work within and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment with conflicting priorities and ability to adapt to change Strong commitment to performance of tasks, high level of energy, attention to detail, enthusiasm and ability to work independently Discretion with sensitive and highly confidential information Strong commitment to skills development and learning Bilingualism (English/French) an asset Committed to the Principles of the Red Cross Movement Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite WORKING CONDITIONS Duties are principally conducted in an office environment that is clean and comfortable, located at the Canadian Red Cross office in Toronto. Domestic travel throughout the community and province is a regular part of the job with occasional travel throughout the country. Current driver's license and use of a car is required. The majority of this work is performed in a safe and clean environment. This position can require working non-traditional hours to execute events and meet the needs of donors and volunteers and during times of disaster or appeal.
