POSITION:                                    Marketing Manager, Strategic Events

REPORTS TO:                            Marketing Director, BI, Sampling, Events, Animations

LOCATION:                                  FSC Toronto

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Manager, Strategic Events is responsible for managing all aspects- from planning to execution of Sephora events monthly.  He/ she will strategize, create and execute event plans including personal appearances and brand-specific events, in addition to off-site events, will analyze post-event results and develop and implement strategies based on results for future event initiatives.  Will utilize strategic planning to ensure maximum sales and press results for events.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategize event concepts to determine best strategy
  • Develop and test new event formats
  • Partner with all corporate stakeholders to create and execute strategies, including but not limited to Marketing, Operations, Client Services, Education, Merchandising, Inventory
  • Communicate, direct and manage all event details with brands, vendors, stores  &, district managers efficiently
  • Manage events from start to finish and oversee all details to ensure maximum sales and positive client experience
  • Ensure brand event goals are achievable and in-store inventory levels are accurate
  • Direct and oversee marketing collateral for events including in-store and online exposure
  • Administer animation event representation on Sephora.ca and social media outlets
  • Manage event budget
  • Track, report and analyze event results including but not limited to sales and press results comprehensively for all events in a timely manner
  • Create comprehensive recaps following each event in a timely manner and incorporate key learnings into future strategies
  • Field both store and brand requests, concerns and feedback for assistance with events
  • Travel and be on-site for events as possible ; required travel within Canada up to 20 %

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Self-starter, high degree of initiative and independence
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access as well as Outlook
  • Ability to successfully work with internal cross-functional teams, outside vendor partners and various levels within both Sephora Corporate and Stores Teams
  • Strategic, resourceful and logical in thinking with the ability to problem solve
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills, able to track multiple projects
  • Ability to motivate and direct a team in a supportive and enthusiastic manner
  • High level of accuracy, able to detect inconsistencies and errors
  • Strong interpersonal skills, approachable, diplomatic and flexible
  • Strong number aptitude, able to compile and analyze data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with sales databases, particularly MCS program, helpful
  • Minimum 4-6+ years corporate marketing and/or event planning experience (Toronto and/or British-Colombia and/or Alberta experience is a plus)
  • Experience managing budget
  • Proven leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Retail cosmetics experience preferred
  • Some travel and weekend hours required- up to 20% of time
