Intern, Corporate Events


Job Overview:

Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) is looking to add an Events Intern to our Corporate Events team starting January 2018.

The ideal candidate will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Corporate Events division as well as support during local events. We are looking for a career driven individual that is ultimately looking for a full-time job in events. This internship is a great way to gain experience in a fast-paced business environment and gain exposure planning and executing both large and small scale corporate events.

This is a non-paid internship and can be credit based with a time commitment of 20 hours a week. AIA will also provide a monthly transportation stipend of $250.


Organization Overview:

Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) is a trade association that represents more than 300 aerospace & defense companies. The corporate events team is responsible for the planning and execution of a variety of meetings such as executive-level corporate meetings for over 200 CEOs of Fortune 500 defense companies worldwide, air shows, committee meetings, etc.



  • Assist with pre-event logistics such as hotel rooming lists, meeting registration, shipping, etc.
  • Research promotion vendors, hotels, and transportation companies for each event
  • Assist with Cvent (event registration platform) and CrowdCompass (mobile event app)
  • Support in the coordination of event materials, including invitations, event programs, nametags, table assignments, signage, etc.
  • Develop post-event evaluations and surveys
  • Maintain event supplies inventory, work with vendors to order new supplies
  • Assist with administrative duties in office and any other duties assigned to meet business needs
  • Support the onsite events team at local events



  • College senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Events, Hospitality, or related field
  • Availability to work up to 20 hours per week Monday-Friday (any combination of days)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to multi-task effectively
  • Must be enthusiastic, deadline-driven and detail-oriented
  • Ability to drive or commute to AIA’s office in Rosslyn, VA
  • This is a Spring semester internship with the option of being extended depending on business needs and individual preference
