Purpose of Role

Digital GS is focused on growing our top 800 global customers across the globe. Account-based marketing is a priority strategic program aimed at growing ICV in the agreed accounts.    

Global Events, Sponsorship and Hospitality Manager is a crucial role who will create and drive unique customer experience for our top global customers


What you’ll be doing

  •  The Global Events, Sponsorship and Hospitality Manager will partner with the regional Marketing leads and ABMers and Account Managers in identifying and rolling out a strong customer engagement roadmap matching the overall business targets.
  • They will need to master and execute all external events as well as customer engagement plans.
  • Identify, create and influence new engagement opportunities to leverage growth in our global accounts.
  • Be the BT Brand Ambassador at all types of engagement.
  • Profiling what customers want and leading insight into best engagements. (eg. CSR, sport events, innovation sessions).
  • Co-ordinating and communicating touchpoint strategies supported with a yearly events, sponsorship and hospitality calendar detailing each touchpoint used for awareness and engagement.
  • Working seamlessly with Global ABM Marketers, Customer Experience (Showcase) Managers and account owner(s) to build tailor-made customer engagement journeys for each account.
  • Leading events from start to finish, which includes: sourcing and management of event agencies, venues, caterers, and production vendors; accurately forecast needs and manage event budgets; maintaining event registration lists and attendee communication; route invoices and record payments accurately into budget trackers; coordinating on-site vendors; ensure customers’ needs are met throughout the entire event lifecycle.
  • Preparing reports and dashboards that show the results of each touchpoint and ROI.
  • Maintaining accuracy and accountability of event budget, create event execution and work back plans, evaluate results against goals, deliver wrap-up reports, and generate learnings for improvement.
  • Executing events which will help increase product penetration in target accounts leveraging solutions under global campaign direction; the four Digital Themes – Digital Employee, Digital Customer, Digital Business, and Securing the Digital Enterprise.    
  • Interlocking, managing and leveraging BT Group’s Events, Sponsorship and Hospitality contacts and assets across a global customer base.
  • Ensuring all events and activities are in line with G&H rules.


Skills / Experience:

  • Understand the BT brand and how the core values transfer into engagements.
  • Demonstrate the confidence to communicate and enable an ecosystem of  influencers, stakeholders and sales teams around a strategic program
  • Commercial understanding of the overall business strategy and goals and how Events, Sponsorship and Hospitality Management aligns.
  • Ability to collaborate across all lines of business.
  • Ability to lead and manage flawlessly end-to-end strategic plans combined with excellence in event delivery.
  • Understanding of the GS Marketing process and capabilities and resources that can be utilized in support of an account.
  • Working knowledge of, Eloqua marketing platform, Budget platforms
  • Ability to effectively manage budgets and track/tag opportunities in Salesforce.
  • Basic understanding of our: Customers - their needs, drivers, challenges,   Competitors - how BT can and does compete against them, key differentiators, and Industry- trends  and Best Practices in Events, Sponsorship and Hospitality inside and outside of the telco industry.
  • Basic understanding of our portfolio, propositions and 4 digital themes.
  • Experience in creating and implementing timelines.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Communication skills with internal and external partners
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to manage and supervise onsite.
