Description:  

Reporting to the Associate Director, Advancement the Alumni and Event Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and delivery of a comprehensive advancement event and mentorship program at Innis College. Central to the role is providing administrative support to the Innis Advancement Office, from reporting and accountability using the ARBOR database, to coordinating direct-mail and email targeted campaigns for specific funding priorities.  An integral member of Innis Advancement, he/she works closely with key community stakeholders, actively engaging in the stewardship of donors and volunteers by administering the generation of the Annual Donor Reports and the processing and acknowledgement of all philanthropic gifts made to Innis College. The incumbent ensures the effective execution of the mentorship program, through all aspects of its annual cycle, including the identification and recruitment of mentors, the selection of mentees, volunteer management and all program needs and deliverables, including kick-off and closing events.  He/she acts as event coordinator for all Advancement-related event activities at the College, overseeing logistical details of event delivery, budgeting and follow-up, as well as working closely with the Communication Officer to promote and market the events.    

 

Qualifications:  

Education:

Bachelor’s degree or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

 

Experience:

Minimum three (3) years of recent and related experience in advancement, alumni relations, stewardship, and event coordination. Experience coordinating and managing mentorship programs. Experience in event coordination and execution. Experience in supporting stewardship activities. Experience in data entry and tracking information. Experience in and knowledge of how to utilize a broad range of communications tools (e.g. social media) to enhance awareness and engagement within the community. Experience with ARBOR or similar donor database would be considered an asset. Technical experience with e-communications (e.g., e-newsletters) and social media in a professional setting. Experience in a university environment and knowledge of post-secondary educational issues preferred.

 

Skills:

Advanced oral and written communications skills working in various formats. Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Demonstrated understanding of social and multi-media, tools, channels, trends, and capabilities. Knowledge of fundraising techniques and alumni relations preferred.

 

Other:

Ability to manage multiple priorities and demands. Must be able to succeed in a fast-paced environment. Excellent customer service orientation and evidence of effective teamwork or collaboration. Must be creative, resourceful, and solutions-oriented; possess ability to prioritize, multitask and meet tight deadlines. Demonstrated ability to exercise sensitivity toward alumni, donors, partners, students, and faculty, and to work with them on a regular basis. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Appointment Type: Budget - Term 

Schedule: Full-time 

Pay Scale Group and Hiring Rate: USW Pay Band 09 -- $56,272 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $71,963. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
