The Opportunity:    

Reporting to the Associate Director of Special Events (Toronto), the Special Events Coordinator is responsible for supporting the identification, development, and execution of several high-end, primarily Committee-based, fundraising events in support of the Arthritis Society in Toronto, inclusive of All-In for Arthritis Gala, Rock the Joint and Golf events. He/she will support the Associate Director in a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, participant and volunteer recruitment, budgeting, prizing logistics, event execution, Committee support, and other duties to increase gross & net revenue. 

Required Skills & Experience:

Our ideal candidate will possess a post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline or diploma in event planning or fundraising with at least one (1) year of event coordination experience in related areas gained from a similar environment. Proven organization and project management skills are a must. Our ideal candidate will have a strong ability to engage, motivate and inspire volunteers and display superior interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral). He/she is a collaborative team player, able to establish and maintain positive and authentic partnerships both internally and externally. Proficiency in a wide range of computer skills including Microsoft Office is essential, with Raiser’s Edge experience a strong advantage. A real passion for high-end events is a must.
