Golf Event and Tour Coordinator

At The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club, our Golf Event Coordinator sets the foundation for our groups and tournaments.  This positions involves the ability to multi-task and be customer focused.  We are committed to provided a memorable golfing experience for all!

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Golf, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Liaise with clients on all details relating to their event (before/during/after)
  • Ensure that events/outings are run professionally
  • Create all collateral materials related to the events (scorecards, cart signs, tee-gifts etc.)
  • Maximize retail profits through effective sales techniques relating to food & beverage, retail and green fees as directed by the Golf Course Sales Manager
  • Perform computer and/or manual scoring duties as required by our guests in a timely and accurate manner
  • Conduct regular communication meetings to ensure that all applicable departments are informed about upcoming events.
  • Liaise with Golf Shop, Golf Services and Golf Course Maintenance departments to ensure that specific duties related to events are performed to the guest specifications
  • Perform site visits as required by the Golf Course Sales Manager
  • Source new, innovative and efficient ways to maximize the work production and future careers of our employees
  • Actively support Health & Safety
  • Actively support Sustainability

 

Qualifications:

    • Post Secondary Education in a recognized Professional Golf Management program is an asset
    • Computer literate, especially with MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and POS software programs is a mandatory requirement
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
    • Must be a committed, career-minded, detail-oriented, team player
    • Ability to be flexible in terms of work scheduling
    • Experience and proficiency with Tee-Time Reservation systems is an asset
    • Desire to advance within the hotel and/or golf  industry is an asset
    • Experience and skills relating to golf retail is an asset Experience at an upscale resort golf facility is an asset
    • Must be able to work in both a team environment and individually
    • Must be able to build and maintain positive working relationships

Physical Aspects of the Position (include but are not limited to):

      • working with a computer for long periods of time
      • working on the phone for long periods of time
      • working both indoors and outdoors
      • lifting 10 - 25lbs.

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization
