The coordinator of PR & Events will support the PR & Events Manager on all day to day media outreach and PR events ensuring complete integration across all channels that is consistent with the company’s overall goals. This role will also partner with store marketing managers to set in-store event plans and media partners by market.


Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Administer and oversee the ongoing maintenance of Public Relations programs or processes
  • Work in partnership with the Manager, Public Relations and Events to coordinate and support all Public Relations programs and initiatives
  • Provide strong level of proactive and reactive service to media seeking to pull products for use in editorial print and television shoots
  • Establish opportunities to support strategic communication plans and merchant priorities, and to increase Holt Renfrew brand awareness in local markets under the direction of the Manager, Public Relations and Events
  • Coordinate the daily functionality of:
    • Assisting the Manager, Public Relations and Events with the execution of community relations and marketing outreach programs with community partners (business associations, Tourism, hotels, etc.) to drive traffic into stores
    • Assisting in the coordination of information from Public Relations, Merchants and Vendors for press kits
    • Assisting in the production of press lists, kits and media tools
    • Assisting with the execution of media previews and other events
    • Organizing and track all media clippings and confirm PR Value
    • Proofreading release inclusions
    • Assisting Public Relations and Events teams at both store and corporate level when required
    • Tracking merchandise that is being sent out to media to ensure it is properly documented and returned in a timely manner and in good condition
    • Compiling and maintain portfolios of press clippings featuring Holt Renfrew merchandise, and play a role in communicating coverage to store and corporate partners in a timely fashion
    • Facilitating all television and photography shoots, ensuring the most appropriate positioning for Holt Renfrew
    • Collaborating with newspaper and fashion editors to assist in promoting Holt Renfrew as a fashion destination
    • Liaising with Buyers, Marketing Managers and Public Relations and Events team members to supply samples to fulfill media requests
  • Coordinate with the Communications team to support media outreach, including FedEx, updating media lists, compiling clippings and preparing regular PR reports
  • Coordinates project/event/initiative implementations including critical paths, monitoring of progress, development of launch materials, communication and results tracking of all media activity, including pitches, loans and resulting coverage
  • Participate in the updating and distribution of Public Relations internal program materials and policies


The ideal candidate:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field
  • 1-2 years post-university work experience, including event management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with the ability to get things done 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player who is able to act as both a leader and an individual contributor as required
  • Confident and effective communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change 
  • Highly service-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow up skills
  • Passionate about fashion and luxury retailing
