JPdL is looking for an individual with strong sales skills, strategic thinking and a multi-level ability of acquiring new business opportunities who has the drive to build, develop, and nurture existing accounts, as well as grow a client base (within a pre-determined territory) through dynamic sales techniques for our Ottawa DMC location.

Use your creativity, sales skills, personality, local knowledge, and our well-established connections to prospect, qualify, plan, and allow our operations team to manage, and deliver stellar corporate and incentive programs in Ottawa.

 Sales process and responsibilities include:

      Build interest in the destination of Ottawa and grow the need for JPdL Ottawa services.

  • Research and qualify leads.
  • Prospect, create, and actively solicit new sales opportunities from within our existing customer base, and by utilizing industry listings, social media, and other sales channels.
  • Maintain relationships with existing clientele to ensure continuity and growth of business.
  • Nurture our current supplier relationships (ex: hotels/restaurants/venues, tours/activities) to develop and grow a solid lead-generation base. Be the first one they call!
  • Design and build creative proposals catering to clients’ requests and needs while exceeding their expectations!
  • Balance management of client expectations and budgets, while growing company’s revenue and profit.
  • Establish a professional relationship and comfort level with clients in order to close the sales process in a timely and efficient manner. Promptly transition clients to the operations department.
  • Think outside the box and continuously explore new business opportunities within the industry and the realm of JPdL’s expertise. We want to be on the forefront of this ever-evolving industry!
  • Report directly to the Managing Director.
  • Bilingual English and French is a strong asset.

  In addition to sales process listed above:

 Welcome clients to Ottawa and spend time with them during site inspections.

  • Attend local industry events in order to create new, and nurture existing, relationships.
  • Travel to tradeshows, industry events and sales trips to grow our brand and build our business opportunities.

 Experience & Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated history of success in building and nurturing client and supplier relationships.
  • Highly motivated, service oriented, self-starter with excellent interpersonal and business communication skills.
  • Able to be proactive and approach problems independently, analytically, and methodically.
  • Strong business sense and industry relevant expertise.
  • Experience at a management level in the meetings and conventions industry is a plus.
