Position Summary:

High touch and high tech position managing entire registration function for NAR’s largest conventions (up to 25,000 registrants), both advance and on-site.  Fulfills requirements of multiple internal work groups through NAR’s technology vendor partner, and mastery of NAR’s data sources.  High level of staff and member interaction.  Reports to Director of Planning, Development, & Special Meetings in the Meetings, Sales and Events group.   

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages registration arm of NAR’s technology vendor partner
  • Consults with internal work groups to integrate their requirements into registration workflow
  • Through that vendor, develops and tests multiple websites to execute internal business rules
  • Specialist on NAR’s member data, how to access and integrate into the reg system
  • Designs onsite layout, hires and manages temp staff
  • Evaluates overall attendee experience and implements improvements
  • Designs and executes VIP seating for NAR special events
  • Consults with NAR IT staff on home-grown system functionality for smaller meetings
  • Manages $1m aggregate budget for registration expenses and staff travel
  • Other duties, as assigned


  • BA/BS preferred
  • 7+ years of management-level work experience, association or corporate registration experience helpful
  • Experience in or with a registration vendor HIGHLY desired
  • Results oriented with high attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to think in innovative ways to find solutions to problems
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office—Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation
  • Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills with a high level of response to all inquiries
