Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking an Associate Events Manager to join the Events team. This position is located in our New York City office.

 

Job Overview:

The Associate Events Manager will organize conferences, workshops, awards, and networking programs for assigned brands at Haymarket Media US. As Event Manager you will be accountable for the event from start to fruition. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to execute detailed logistics and operations for assigned events.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage assigned events with execution of logistics and operations including budget management, venue sourcing, collateral coordination, catering, branding, room 
  • set-ups, audio visual, on-site assistance, etc.
  • Coordination of registration (websites and onsite)
  • Develop timelines for assigned events.
  • Collaborate with our editorial, audience development and brand marketing teams to develop and execute event marketing campaigns
  • Accountable for meeting budget line items
  • Accountable for goals set for assigned events, including entries, registrants and live attendees
  • Negotiate contracts with venues, vendors, temps and additional hires
  • Manage temps, assistants and any additional help brought in for event
  • Manage onsite event execution, including all staff and vendors onsite
  • Support the awards team on award galas, festivals, and honoree events

 

Skills and Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 year’s event planning experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint and google drive
  • Experience with utilizing meeting management software
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of evenings, or extended hours during event programs
  • Ability to travel and provide on-site support is required
  • Planning, organizational and time management skills required
  • Ability to manage several projects at one time in an effective manner
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and has the ability to problem solve when necessary
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly and professionally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills
