Netflix is seeking a Workplace Event Operations Manager to join our Los Angeles team.  This role will report into the Workplace Services and Operations Manager and will oversee a team of Event Coordinators on the Workplace team who are responsible for facilitating a variety of onsite events including but not limited to meetings, meetups, employee/team happy hours, screenings, promotional shoots, and internal catering requests.  This role requires an individual with a background in hospitality, a deep understanding of large scale venue management, and a proven track record of building strong cross-functional partnerships.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Workplace Event Coordinators to success by providing on-going support, training, advice and leadership on a daily basis
  • Manage the team work schedule as well as ensuring every event is covered despite call outs, request offs, or sick time
  • Partner closely with our Workplace Operations Specialist on meeting & event set-up needs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify their event venue needs and to ensure flawless execution from the team
  • Partner with our Food & Beverage Manager to build out our in-house catering program
  • Partner with the Corporate Events team to ensure their on-site events are supported and successful
  • Conduct vendor research and build out our recommended vendor network
  • Propose ideas to improve provided services and workflows
  • Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day
  • Conduct pre- and post-event evaluations and report on outcomes
  • Research event industry and identify opportunities for innovation and creativity

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of event management experience at a large scale venue, preferably in hospitality or media/entertainment industry
  • Experience building out and managing a team of Coordinators
  • Exceptional project management experience and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work across various levels of the organization while building trust and fostering collaboration
  • A desire to be hands-on, not afraid to roll up your sleeves 
  • Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and lead several events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • The desire to consistently enhance and innovate onsite events, bringing new ideas to the table – both strategic and areas of execution
  • Excellent eye for detail, organized, thorough and a creative thinker and problem solver
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • A good understanding of facilities/building operations
