Job Description

Seeking a candidate with exceptional organizational and computer skills (including InDesign and Excel skills), the ability to handle a variety of simultaneous projects and events, a positive outlook, and outstanding interpersonal skills to work with benefactors, internal partners, and vendors. The Special Events team strives to enhance the overall donor experience through events, personalized communications, and Notre Dame experiences. These events and experiences are often hosted by Executive Officers and other University leadership, and are typically initiated in partnership with senior management within University Enterprises and Events and University Relations. Such events/experiences encourage deepened donor relationships and engagement. The Assistant Director assists with planning and execution of events for key leaders and provides administrative support and expertise to the Special Events team as a whole with a focus on operations of the unit and administrative support needed for the implementation and success of all events.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (4 years)
1 to 2 years in event planning

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent communications skills (both verbal and oral) are required. Individual should demonstrate a mastery of the Microsoft Suite software package, especially a strong skill set in Excel, and have the ability to master University software programs such as Advance and BEAT. Knowledge and mastery of G Suite functions necessary. Project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines; excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to interact with diverse constituencies in appropriate, positive ways and to handle sensitive/confidential information properly. Event management and execution experience is also required.
