We are currently seeking an experienced, detail-oriented individual to join our team as Accounts Payable/ Receivable Coordinator reporting to the Director, Finance, in our Vancouver Office. This position will be responsible for providing day to day support to the Accounting function of MCI Canada.

Accounts Payable/Receivable Coordinator

Responsibilities include:

Accounting -

  • Accounts payable; coding and posting invoices, processing payments, preparing deposits, journal entries and reconciliations.

  • Complete credit applications for hotels and suppliers

  • Enter credit card transactions on a timely basis. Responsible for overall credit card coordination including, but not limited to, daily processing, recording, reconciliation, and problem resolution of transactions

  • Set up wire transfers and EFT payments

  • Accounts receivable; invoicing and timely collections of receivables

  • Responsible for tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues

  • Support staff with job costing and revenue related questions

  • Manage filing system

  • Respond to supplier/customer inquiries relating to accounting

  • This role supports operations in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal

Office Administration -

  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail

  • Order and track office stationary, and kitchen supplies

  • Other administrative duties as assigned

Required Experience, Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum 3 years’ related experience in accounts payables and receivables

  • Accounting Diploma or Certificate required

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Logical, task-orientated and analytical

  • Ability to work without supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work under pressure, to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write and present information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences

  • Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software programs is essential

  • Strong computer skills - MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Strong Excel skills are essential
