Event Coordinator

Start Date: Immediately
Salary: $34,112.00 - 35,817.60 /year

The Event Coordinator must be able to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends as required.

What qualifications are we looking for?

We strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following:
· Post-secondary education is preferred;
· Competent computer skills including Word and Excel and ability to learn new systems quickly;
· Able to multi-task and demonstrate strong time-management skills;
· Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification (CPR recertified within the past 12 months);
· Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search;
· Three professional references.

What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?

Reporting to the Business Manager, the Event Coordinator will, 
· Supporting the Business Manager with marketing and selling facility spaces for events, birthday parties, and group bookings; facilitating booking processes (market/sell, accept bookings and collect payment, pre-event coordination, execution on the day of booking, and post event follow up);
· Track and monitor party and group bookings and payments;
· Provide exceptional customer service by utilizing strong communication and troubleshooting skills to manage all customer inquiries, requests, and complaints;
· Use conflict resolution and problem solving skills with user groups, space, times, facility usage, and etc.;
· A thorough understanding of various aspects of business including strong knowledge of the facility layout, program offerings, public and all other event schedules, and emergency procedures;
· Perform Duty Manager shifts providing excellent customer service, maintaining facility security and safety and leading the emergency response when required;
