Position Overview

The Communications & Special Events Coordinator (CSEC) provides leadership and support in a variety of communication and development activities at Grace Hospital Foundation. In conjunction with the appropriate committees of the Board of Directors and staff, the CSEC takes a leadership role in communications, brand awareness, and special events.

  • 1 - 2 years experience with communications/fundraising/event planning, preferably in a non-profit setting
  • Experience with social media and website management (WordPress, Adobe Contribute)

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • University degree or post-secondary diploma in a relevant discipline, preferably Creative Communications
  • License required and access to vehicle preferred
Qualifications and Skills
  • Excellent computer/graphic design skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • The ability to take initiative and deliver projects under tight deadlines
  • Must be self motivated and able to work well both independently and cooperatively
Physical Requirements
  • Occasional evening/weekend work may be required


This term position may end earlier as outlined in the Employee Handbook.


Salary commensurate with education and qualifications.


This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
