The City of North Vancouver’s Community and Partner Engagement Department is looking for a Public Space and Events Assistant to work on an auxiliary basis.
You will be responsible for assisting in policy and program development, planning, coordinating and producing activities to animate public spaces in the City. You will liaise with internal departments and a wide variety of community organizations, public, business, special interest groups, agencies, contractors, partners and staff to coordinate support for and involvement in the activation of public spaces in the City. Additionally, you will establish and maintain relationships with community groups and sponsors, seeking new sponsors as required.
You will possess a post-secondary diploma in public relations, planning, event planning or a related field, plus related work experience or an equivalent of training and experience. You have a dynamic personality with excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as a thorough knowledge of event planning and coordination. You are a people-person who enjoys recruiting, engaging, motivating and directing the work of volunteers. You are familiar with the City of North Vancouver and have a passion for connecting people with public spaces. A valid Class 5 Driver’s License is also required.
$29.74 to $34.98 per hour
|Hours of Work||
Auxiliary. Hours will vary and will include evening and weekend work.
