Position Summary:

The Special Project & Event Manager will be a skilled administrator who can take on and deliver special projects for the ECM department that include basic event planning, faculty outreach, and overall department operations projects. They will assist our accountant as well as provide support to the Executive Director. They will play a crucial role in Commencement planning as well as ECM department operations.

The ideal candidate has the ability to exercise independent judgment and must demonstrate superior time and project management skills as they will often need to choose between conflicting and competing priorities. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Demonstrated customer service experience and the ability to work in a team setting with all levels of management, faculty, and staff is a must. A high level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of products is desired. Experience working in a university setting or similar institution is preferred as is experience coordinating events or programs.


The planning and execution of small events for ASE and the ECM department.
Acting as the faculty outreach coordinator for classroom issues/questions/requests.
Vendor coordination for the AV installation team
Assist with the processing and tracking the progress of Purchase Orders.
Create, deploy and administer ECM & Commencement websites. Will insure that the information remains current and accurate.
Special Projects as assigned by the Executive Director.
Providing administrative support to the ECM accountant.
Provide Commencement planning support.
Serve as a backup EMS reservationist.
Provides onsite conference and event assistance for select ECM associated events: assist with registration area, customer service and support of ECM Event Planners
Manage the University's New Hire Orientation on behalf of ECM.
Oversee the smooth running of office operations by maintaining and purchasing equipment and supplies.
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director


College graduation or an equivalent combination of experience and training. 1 year of relevant administrative experience

Must have prior event planning experience

Able to use a variety of spreadsheet, word-processing, database, e-mail, and presentation software.
