Event and experience design are central to this experience, where a positive and welcoming impression is fundamental to differentiated service delivery. The event services team supports event and experience design throughout Canada, both in Orbis locations and offices yet to undergo the Workplace of the Future transformation. The events team is comprised of managers, specialists and coordinators throughout Canada who have responsibility for planning, managing and delivering the firm events and programs. The Senior Manager, Podium Experience Team – Events, will be responsible for overseeing the national team.


General Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all firm-wide events
  • Liaise with Partners, clients and supplier contacts
  • Establish and implement operational model and process management
  • Track and manage team utilization and scheduling of events and support levels
  • Oversee sourcing lead and process supporting the team
  • Track client feedback and satisfaction
  • Responsible for team performance management and coaching
  • Key liaison for event management platform account team
  • Responsible for technical implementation of best practices and enhancements
  • Participate in fiscal budget planning with leadership
  • Responsible for regular event reporting to include: trends, metrics and overall volumes
  • Responsible for leading the organization and execution for two key eminence programs:
    • venue selection review and approval of supplier contracts cost projection and budget analysis for each event
    • online registration reporting and analysis (Cvent) rooming lists meeting room set-ups audio visual requirements
    • catering arrangements/menu selection on-site registration co-ordination of on-site simultaneous interpretation ground
    • transportation arrangements supplier management collaborate with clients/ groups within the firm on industry/ firm best practices
  • Be familiar with frequently asked questions regarding the Orbis program and experiences/enhancements unique to Bay Adelaide East
  • Handle all interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism
  • Act a Deloitte brand ambassador


External Posting Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in event planning
  • Experience with web-based event management/registration tool preferred (Cvent)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills required
  • Ability to work under time pressure and deal effectively with stress
  • Ability to multi task
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent problem solving skills required
  • Flexibility to work overtime and travel to attend on-site meetings when required
  • CMP candidate preferred
  • Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
  • Advanced MS Office experience required
