Cultural and Events Administrator (Job # 2019-100- IE) Department : Leisure & Community Services Status : Part Time, Regular Date Posted : October 11, 2019 Date Closing : October 25, 4:30 p.m. Number of Positions : 1 Scheduled Hours/Shifts: 24-28 hours per week Salary : $29.33-$32.42 per hour Position Purpose: Reporting to the Manager, Culture and Community Services, the Cultural and Events Administrator position assists with the development, coordination, administration and marketing (print, online and multi-media) of key Town programs and events within the Leisure Services Division including Culture Days, Doors Open and an “Evening With” series. As required, the Cultural and Events Administrator will assist the Manager with the development of the Town plaquing program, and will assist the Special Events Coordinators, as appropriate, in the coordination and delivery of signature Town events, including Movies in the Park, Mayors Bike and BBQ, New Year’s Eve, Food Truck Frenzy, Ribfest, Art in the Park, Victoria Day, Snowflakes and Starlight, and the Santa Claus Parade. Qualifications and Requirements : • Completion of a Post-Secondary Degree, BA in Arts, Museums, History, Culture or similar and/or equivalent experience • Demonstrated programme administration experience, preferably in a Municipal setting • Strong graphic design experience, preferable as related to the generation of print and online marketing and event promotion • Demonstrated sponsorship and revenue generation experience • Working knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher, Illustrator • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Advanced interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively with all municipal staff, elected officials, residents, businesses, dignitaries, other government/agencies, and the media; ability to build collaborative working and community relationships, and internal and external alliances • Effective organizational/coordinating and research skills; ability to prioritize work and to work under pressure to meet deadlines • Superior customer service orientation with a focus on ensuring effective services; maintain a positive, professional attitude • Knowledge of budgeting and financial transaction processes • Available to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends) as may be required for event schedules How to apply : Please forward your resume in confidence by October 25, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. , identifying Job # 2019-100-IE in the subject line to firstname.lastname@example.org .
