Position Title Events Coordinator Campus Bloomington Department SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH - BLOO (BL-SPHB-IUBLA) Department Information Job Summary The Events Coordinator is a member of the IU School of Public Health Office of Alumni Relations and Events team, and fulfills a key role in support of the Director in events and alumni engagement. The coordinator will provide daily support to a demanding, fast-paced environment that includes assisting with travel logistics for guest speakers and dignitaries, creating itineraries for special visitors, assisting with event registration, and managing all aspects of processing reimbursements, stipends, and honoraria related to various events. Additionally, the coordinator will work with the Director to create strategic engagement plans for SPH alums, and will be a stewardship liaison by working to develop and foster personal relationships with SPH alums. A love for IU is a MUST! Oversees events in the absence of Director, and assists with planning and executing alumni events, receptions, and service projects. Assists with designing and manages marketing pieces with brand compliance for school-wide and alumni related events, preparation, and shipment (if applicable) of needed materials for conferences, symposiums, and more. Updates master events calendar and other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED and three years of office experience. Strong knowledge of computer and database / word processing / spreadsheet software. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to exchange information with a wide variety of individuals. Excellent customer service skills. Good problem-solving and organization skills. Understands office procedures and equipment. Ability to expeditiously and accurately perform math calculations. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to make sound judgments and decisions. Demonstrated ability to multi task in an environment that has multiple deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in hospitality and events, business, or equivalent. Experience in project management. Knowledge of IU systems. Working Conditions / Physical Demands Utilization of a computer, Microsoft Office Suite, copier, fax, printer and telephone system.
