EVENTS AND COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT, Institute for Medical Engineering and Science (IMES), to provide complex and diverse administrative support to IMES headquarters and staff. Responsibilities include serving as first point of headquarters contact for faculty, students, and visitors; providing guidance to a broad range of in-person, telephone, and email inquiries; assisting with complex planning and staffing of IMES events; drafting, editing, and distributing promotional materials related to headquarters’ activities; coordinating event logistics such as room set-ups, catering, and registration check-in; maintaining and updating content for IMES and HST websites, social media, various event calendars, and digital signage; troubleshooting problems; supporting community stewardship and cultivation activities such as gift acknowledgements and bi-annual appeals; overseeing scheduling for conference spaces and A/V equipment; monitoring and helping maintain IMES common and shared spaces; maintaining electronic storage systems; distributing headquarters mail; monitoring supply inventory and placing orders for office supplies; and performing other duties as assigned. Will report to the assistant director. Job Requirements REQUIRED: a minimum of three years’ related experience; excellent oral and written communication, customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with people at all levels and to work effectively despite frequent interruptions in a service-oriented environment; high level of attention to detail; ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and efficiently and productively perform multiple job responsibilities in a dynamic environment. Seek someone who is self-motivated and interested in working independently on some projects but also as part of a team. Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Photoshop, InDesign, and web design software (especially WordPress) needed.
